Carbonyl Reactive Biotinylation Reagents
Our Carbonyl Reactive dPEG® Biotinylation Reagents consist of biotin that is conjugated to our discrete PEG (dPEG®) linkers and functionalized with hydrazide, amine, or aminooxy functional groups. These highly pure water-soluble products enable the formation of hydrazone, imine, or oxime bonds, respectively, when reacted with aldehydes and ketones. The amine-functionalized reagents also form amide bonds when reacted with carboxylic acids.
These highly pure, water-soluble compounds enable a range of constructs and applications that can take advantage of the tight binding between biotin and streptavidin. The dPEG® linkers enhance the water solubility and reduce the immunogenicity of conjugates made with them. Biotin-dPEG® reagents are superior to highly hydrophobic, traditional biotinylation reagents like LC-biotin because they eliminate concerns about aggregation and precipitation.
